Final Report of the Meeting of African Ministers of Education on CIEFFA, 15-17 September, 2004
The meeting of African Education Ministers on the International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education and Training in Africa (CIEFFA) was held in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) on 17 September 2004. This meeting followed the experts’ meeting that was held from 15 to 16 September 2004.
The meeting was attended by the following:
The Ministers and heads of Delegations of the following member states of the African Union: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Togo ;
The officials and Representatives of the following Organisations: the Agence Intergouvernementale de la Francophonie (AIF), the Conference of Education Ministers (CONFEMEN), The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA).
The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Laya SAWADOGO, Minister of Secondary, Higher Education and Scientific Research of Burkina Faso, representing His Excellency the Prime Minister, in the presence of members of the government, members of Diplomatic Corps, political and administrative authorities, military and paramilitary authorities, traditional authorities, Directors and heads of departments as well as many guests.
